Charlie Dimmock personalized items!

The pictures below were submitted by site visitor Mike Child who is an avid Charlie Dimmock fan. The Water Garden Workbook was signed for him by Charlie Dimmock when he met her at a garden fete in Eastleigh, way back in June 2001

19 year old Mike is considering a career in horticulture. He says - "I've recently decided to try and focus my mind on other things and give myself some targets to aim at away from my working life.  One of these is to start an evening course in Horticulture, probably at Sparsholt near Winchester, which is incidentally where Charlie took her first gardening courses! I would love to learn more about gardening. I know the basics, but Charlie's inspired me to take it further and also to enjoy it rather than seeing it as some sort of chore!" As you may know, Charlie was 'discovered' by the BBC when she was working at a Water Garden Centre and the rest (as they say) is history.

The autographed items below were won by Mike Child in a Naomi House auction.
"I've attached some pictures of Charlie's signed gardening gloves as well as a lovely signed photo. I'm not quite sure what to do with the gloves yet. I certainly won't be using them for gardening!"

Mike continues - "I also have plans on putting a band together at some point in the new year and my intention is to record about 10 demos of my songs on my digital mixing desk and then to present them to some musicians so that we can develop them for playing in a live context. Whatever I do in the future, it has to be creative.  Sitting in front of a computer screen all day punching in data just doesn't do it for me!  Music and gardening, although a completely ridiculous combination, are both creative and also extremely rewarding, and hopefully I'll be able to make use of one or the other."

Mike was fortunate to meet Charlie at Whiteley Shopping Village, near Fareham, May 2005 and she willingly posed for a photograph.
